We connected with Mike Lundin on Twitter to ask him about his handicapping process and why this NBA season in particular has been so successful for him.
Capper Reviews: After a slow start to the season, you had a really strong second half, why do you think that is?
Mike Lundin: “A lot of my handicapping methodology, especially for the NBA is about finding teams that are undervalued by the betting market based on their recent game or run of games. A team is never as good as its best performance, or as bad as its worst. Buy low and sell high does not apply only to the stock market, but also to sports betting.
Also, I, as well as most other handicappers who rely a lot on data, do better the longer into the season you get. Information is king.
I know many sports bettors find the NBA regular season a grind and I can sympathize with that, but honestly, that is the best time to make money IMO. With fewer games on the board in the playoffs, the number of edges to exploit will inevitably be reduced, but it’s still possible to make money and I expect to make a lot of money for my clients even with reduced volume.”
Mike has not only been tearing it up in the NBA, but he also finished this year in the top 3 on our NFL handicapper leaderboards and he is as of the publication of this article a top 5 handicapper in all sports for 2023 and also one of our strongest NHL handicappers.
