Preview
Both these teams are coming off a win in their respective season openers, but only one team will be 2-0 heading into Week 3. The Eagles opened as the favorite but the public is firmly backing the Vikings. An estimated 64 percent of tickets are on Minnesota plus the points.
The Eagles won on the road in Detroit in Week 1, but they were outscored 14-0 in the fourth quarter of that game. The Vikings win was perhaps more impressive, holding the Packers to single digits in a 23-7 home win.
The Vikings have won four of six meetings versus Philly dating back to 2010, and two of those wins came at Lincoln Financial Field. The Vikings have struggled though on Monday Night Football going just 4-12 against the spread in their last 16 appearances.
Minnesota Vikings
- 1-0 overall in 2022
- 1-0 in the NFC North in 2022
- 1-0 against the spread in 2022
The Vikings defense made life difficult for Aaron Rodgers in Week 1, holding him to 195 yards and an interception on 22-of-34 passing. He was sacked four times and also lost one fumble.
Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson put on a show. Jefferson caught nine passes for 184 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Vikings avoided any major injuries in Week 1, with only one rookie corner leaving the game with an undisclosed ailment.
While Cousins is coming off back to back seasons with over 4,000 passing yards and a combined 68 touchdowns, he is rarely mentioned in conversations about the league’s top quarterbacks. One of the reasons for that is his 2-9 record in Monday Night Football games.
Philadelphia Eagles
- 1-0 overall in 2022
- 0-0 in the NFC East in 2022
- 0-1 against the spread in 2022
The Eagles were a popular pick among sharps in the futures markets this off-season, with plenty of bettors betting on them to win the NFC East or go over their season wins total. One of the reasons for optimism was that their offensive line was ranked #1 overall in the NFL by Pro Football Focus.
They leaned on that offensive line in Week 1, running for 216 yards and four TDs on 39 rushing attempts in the win at Detroit. They might have success against a Vikings defense that allowed over 130 rushing yards per game last year.
A.J. Brown pulled in 1o receptions for 155 yards in his Eagles debut, but Devonta Smith was held without a catch despite being targeted four times. Jalen Hurts might need to throw the ball around a little more to keep up with the Vikings this week. Last week he had the luxury of playing with a lead for the majority of the game.
Relevant Trends
- The Vikings are 4-12 ATS in their last 16 Monday games.
- The Eagles are 3-14 ATS in their last 17 games in September.
- The over is 9-2 in the Vikings last 11 road games.
- The over is 5-0 in the Eagles last five home games.
- The over is 11-3 in the Eagles last 14 games in Week 2.
Prediction: Minnesota 28 – Philadelphia 27
Most bettors are aware that Kirk Cousins has a poor win/loss record in Monday night games, but what they likely don’t know is that he had a passer rating of 100+ in five of those games, and a rating over 87 in all but three of those games. The Vikings talent at receiver, paired with a healthy Dalvin Cook in the backfield will make them tough to stop. Minnesota should get their points here in Philly, and the game should go over the total.

Kirk Cousins is a good God Fearing Christian, and he will have success because it’s God’s will! This Week 2 Monday Night Football matchup will be a victory for the virtuous Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings. The Eagles have no faith, they will lose at home to a superior Minnesota teams.
Eagles overrated in Week 2 after beating the Lions in Week 1. This preview and prediction is pretty good, mentioning that Philadelphia gave up 14 points in the 4th quarter and blew the cover last week. Minnesota has more weapons, a better offense and the defense looked great against the Packers. If Aaron Rodgers struggled against this defense, you surely can’t expect Jalen Hurts to have much success. I will be shocked if the Vikings don’t win big here on Monday Night Football!
Kirk Cousins is a POS anti vax bible thumper. I am cheering so hard that the Eagles defense ends his season with a vicious sack fumble crushing his bones. This POS has no business in the league. He’s a f-ing Trump supporter and should go spend his time doing interviews with Ben Shapiro and Tim Pool. People like Kirk Cousins shouldn’t have a platform.
