Portugal won this tournament in 2016. Although that team is broken up, Christiano Ronaldo still remains. Ronaldo is not a starter which shows the strength and depth that this Portugal squad has, as they are the top seed in Group F. In the last 10 matches Portugal has scored 3.1 goals per match while only conceding 0.6 goals per game. Portugal cruised through qualifying winning all 10 matches while only conceding 2 goals. 

Czech Republic is the 3 seed in Group F. They only lost one match in the qualifying round to Albania. Czech Republic doesn’t have household names but they’re coached by Hasek who has turned this team around as they won their last two matches in Friendlies. The Czech Republic scores 1.8 goals per match while conceding 0.9 goals per game.

In the qualifying round Portugal dominated. They scored 36 goals while only conceding 2. They scored the most goals and conceded the least. Portugal is a talented and experienced team with a mix of veteran talent like Ronaldo and Pepe, as well as energetic young talent like Inacio and Ramos. Portugal is only the 8th favorite on the books, but they can certainly contend for a championship. Portugal should sweep this group and move on to the knockout round.

Czech Republic plays in a weak group, which could very well help them get into the knockout stage. They rely on their strong defense, but as of late we have seen flaws. Czech lacks offensive firepower. Czech was aggressive in their match against Spain and if they can find that aggression, they should be able to compete. The Czech Republic has had mixed performances. They will need to be consistent if they want to be competitive in this tournament.

Portugal is the superior team here. They dominated qualifying and I expect that to carry through to the Group Stages. I thought about an under play here, but Portugal could score 3 by themselves. Czech Republic should be able to defensively compete but Portugal has the talent to pull away as time winds down. Portugal has speed and goal scoring ability which will be the difference.
