Ranger Suarez (4-3, 2.94 ERA) vs. Ryan Johnson (1-3, 7.40 ERA) .

Despite Boston being 39-48 this season, the Red Sox are slowly coming back. The Red Sox have won both games in this series and they are most definitely in striking distance in the not as strong AL league. Ranger Suarez takes the mound on and he's been dominant this year. With an electric 2.12 ERA in road games, I believe that he's going to be ready to go for this contest.

On the other hand, Ryan Johnson has been quite poor. I'm not a fan of what he's been able to do this season with a 7.40 ERA. The Angels have lost 86% of their games with Johnson on the bump as well. Give me the Red Sox on Sunday.

Burns' Prediction: 7-3 Red Sox.

Tyler Mahle (1-8, 5.67 ERA) vs. Tanner Gordon (0-2, 6.69 ERA) .

Looking at the numbers, both of these two pitchers are fairly poor. Tyler Mahle has a very poor record. But, he's been picking up his quality lately. No, he's not going to give you a Cy Young performance. But, he should be the stronger of the two pitchers here on Sunday in my eyes.

On the other hand, Tanner Gordon has been extremely bad. I understand that it's difficult to play in Colorado. However, even playing in this stadium, his numbers don't necessarily improve. This is a matchup that he struggled with in the matchup at the end of May and I see him having more issues today.

San Francisco also needs this series win given what's happened over the first half the season. Time's running out if the Giants want to make a run at a wildcard spot. We're going to see what happens. But, I do know that Colorado isn't in any position to compete either. Give me SF.

Burns' Prediction: 8-2 Giants.
