Even though New York isn't playing it's best right now and has had a pair of losses over the past couple of games, I believe that this team is more than capable of avoiding a third straight loss here on Wednesday on the road. The Liberty have some of the best pure scorers in the WNBA and both Steward & Ionescu should be on their games today having not played since Sunday.

On the other hand, Golden State has won consecutive games which is probably the reason for a smaller spread than I'd expect for this game. Like most sports though, one game is completely different from the next in the WNBA and there's a lot of change that happens in between games. The Valkyries are still battling through the growing pains of playing as a new group and that'll hurt them against one of the best in the WNBA. Give me the Liberty to respond with a double digit win today.

After beginning the season with one of the worst records in recent MLS history, LA Galaxy has found a slight groove recently. Yes, it's still got a horrid record that shouldn't be brought up. However, the Galaxy should be focussed on the positives right now and that's having scored five goals over the past couple of games and not tasting the defeat. LA has given up 39 goals in 18 games though which is more than two per game.

Looking at Colorado, it's been alright this season currently in ninth in the Western Conference. The Rapids have had their struggles on scoring as of late. However, a weaker defensive opponent like LA could be exactly what they need to regain the offensive form. I expect lots of goals on Wednesday evening in this big time clash.

Burns' Prediction: 3-3 Draw.

Zack Wheeler (7-2, 2.61 ERA) vs. Colton Gordon (2-1, 4.54 ERA) .

While the Phillies got completely shut down by Framber Valdez yesterday who pitched seven scoreless innings, they need to get the offense back going tonight. This evening, I believe that Philadelphia will have another strong outing from their starter (Wheeler) who is once again in the Cy Young race. His stats since becoming a Philly in 2020 are undeniably some of the best, if not the best in the big leagues. Also, Bryce Harper could be back from injury in this one.

Even though I've played on Gordon a few times this year, I do think that he gets carried by his offense a tad. He's still very inexperienced with just seven games of work to go by. Over his past couple of outings, the ERA has been quite similar to where it has been after his poor start. This could be another game where he's forced to exit early. I expect the Phillies to bounce back from yesterday's late inning loss and comeback strong today.
