PSP's Data Driven Picks is a model-based service that has posted 10 top-10 leaderboard finishes since 2022, including the 2025–26 NHL title and a #6 all-sports finish in 2025. Its win rates are unusually high, 58–63% on its big samples, because the model mostly backs favorites and line-protected bets like puck lines and run lines.

That makes it a different kind of service from most on our site. You win often and lose less often, but each win pays less than a full unit, so the edge comes from being right a few percentage points more than the price implies.

Good fit if you: bet NHL or MLB, prefer a steady, high-hit-rate approach, and want picks backed by numbers rather than gut feel.

What is PSP's Data Driven Picks?

PSP's Data Driven Picks is the model-driven arm of Professional Sports Picks. The idea behind it is simple: with legal betting spreading across the US and sportsbook lines getting sharper, bettors who rely on gut feel and narratives will fall behind. So PSP built its own data infrastructure to run alongside its human handicappers.

The model's job is to find statistical anomalies, teams the market rates too high or too low, and only release a pick when the expected value clears a set threshold. In-house handicappers then review what the model flags, so it's a model-plus-human process rather than a black box. It handles money lines, spreads, run lines, puck lines and totals.

Two practical details matter if you follow it:

• Picks come out early. Soft lines are most common well before game time, so NFL picks are released early in the week and NBA, NHL and MLB picks overnight. If you bet hours later, you may get a worse number.
• Volume follows the data. Expect around 3–5 picks a day, more on busy slates, fewer when the model sees no value.

The model is built mainly for the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB and college sports, with lighter coverage of soccer, MMA, tennis and golf.

How PSP rates and stakes its picks

Every pick gets a 1–5 star rating, and most releases land at 4* or 5*. The recommended stakes are deliberately small:

• 4* play: 2% of your bankroll
• 5* play: 2.5% of your bankroll

That's conservative compared with most services, and it suits the style. A favorites-heavy model wins often but gives back more on each loss, so smaller stakes keep the bankroll steady through losing days.

What the record tells you, sport by sport

NHL is the flagship. Back-to-back seasons near the top: #6 in 2024–25 (123-76) and #1 in 2025–26 (126-73, 63.3%). Going by the profit figures, the average price it pays is roughly -135 to -140, which puts break-even around 58%. Winning 62–63% at those prices is a real edge, and it's the most repeatable result on the sheet.

MLB is the other pillar. #3 in 2023 at 280-175 and #10 in 2025 at 180-107, both above 61%. The pattern is the same as hockey: favorites and run lines, where break-even sits near 59%. A 61–63% hit rate clears it, but not by much, which is why the profit per pick is modest.

The all-sports finish shows the model scales. #6 overall in 2025 on nearly 1,000 picks at 58.5% (+$5,229). Holding a high win rate across that many bets is the strongest evidence that the model, not luck, is doing the work.

Soccer is a promising side market. #4 in 2023–24 at 29-18. Encouraging, but still a small sample.

What it isn't (yet). No big-sample top-10 finish in the NFL, NBA or college sports so far, even though the model is built for them. Its proven record is hockey and baseball.

Strengths and things to watch

PSP's edge is a consistent, high-hit-rate model in hockey and baseball; the trade-off is thin margins and a weaker record outside those two sports.

Things to watch

• Favorites-heavy betting means thin margins. A drop of three or four points in win rate can turn a winning season flat
• Across all sports since January 2025, the record is 1,083-827 (57%) but only +$357, roughly break-even. The profit is concentrated in NHL and MLB, so be selective
• The sales copy promises the model will beat "any and all human competitors." No model does that every season; judge it on the graded record
• Early releases matter. If you can't bet soon after a pick goes out, the line may already have moved
