Tran’s “Take It Or Toss It” – Top Sports Betting Trends For March 21, 2016

There’s no doubt that betting on sports is a tricky business, but there are plenty of tools that professional handicappers use to give them an added edge over the bookmaker. Some guys like to focus on situational handicapping, while others might use a contrarian approach.

Ricky Tran is primarily a “numbers guy”, with a keen eye for exploiting relevant trends and statistics. Ricky will tell you that finding hot trends is the easy part, the hard part is figuring out which of those trends to use, and which to ignore. Here are a few games that Ricky is looking at today:

NHL

Florida Panthers vs. New York Rangers ML -134
Rangers are 7-1 SU in the last 8 meetings

A massive Rangers dominance in this series in recent seasons and they’re 22-9 in their last 31 games at the Garden. Rangers have lost four of their last five overall and need a win to hold off the Islanders for third in the division. Florida is top of the Atlantic Division but has won only four of its last nine games and it has lost six straight against teams with a winning record. Ricky Says: TAKE IT!

NBA

Denver Nuggets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Under 214.5 points
Under is 6-1-1 in the last 8 meetings

The Cavs lost 122-101 at Miami Saturday and this is not the same team that won 93-87 at Denver back in December. They’re playing at a higher tempo now and the over is 7-3-1 in the Cavaliers last 11 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points. Denver off a 101-93 win at Charlotte as it snapped a three-game skid. Last game of a five-game road trip tonight, over 4-1 in their last rive on the road and 6-2 in Nuggets last 8 games following a straight up win. If anything I would lean the over here. Ricky Says: TOSS IT!

Sacramento Kings vs. Chicago Bulls Under 219.5 points
Under is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings

Sacramento and under is not synonymous with each other, but the Kings are coming off a solid defensive display in a 88-80 victory over the New York Knicks on Sunday. Chicago is off a 92-85 win against the Jazz Saturday, under is 4-1 in Bulls last 5 games following a straight up win. Sure, this looks reasonable. Ricky Says: TAKE IT!
